Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag for a while now. They’re pretty, you know, and kinda fancy. But the price tag? Ouch! So, I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?”

First, I started by looking up pictures online. I needed to see what this bag really looked like up close. I found some that showed it was made of brown leather and had this black FF thingy all over it. And gold-colored metal parts. It’s a bucket bag, which means it’s shaped like a bucket, I guess. There were pictures of detachable straps, a longer one and a shorter one. It was a puzzle, I tell you, just trying to understand it from those images!

Next, I had to get the stuff to make it. I went to a local store and picked up some brown leather that was as close as I could get to the original. It’s not exactly the same, but hey, it’s brown, and it’s leather! Then, I got some black mesh fabric for that FF pattern I saw. This was tricky. I couldn’t find the exact pattern, so I had to improvise a little. And for the shiny metal parts, I found some gold-colored rings and clasps at a craft store.

The Messy Part

  • Cutting the leather was the hardest. I drew out the shape of the bag on the back of the leather, using a ruler and a pen. I followed the pictures as best as I could, trying to make it look like that bucket shape.
  • Then came the sewing. Oh boy, the sewing. I used a needle and thread, and let me tell you, it took forever. I poked my fingers more times than I can count. But I kept going, stitching the leather pieces together.
  • The mesh part was a whole other story. I decided to hand-paint the FF pattern onto the mesh. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot, but it gave it that Fendi vibe, you know?
  • Attaching the metal parts was the final step. I managed to get the rings and clasps on, making sure the straps were detachable, just like the real thing.

Finally, after all that work, I finished it. It’s not a perfect copy, not at all. But it’s my Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag. It’s got that bucket shape, the brown leather, the kinda-sorta FF pattern, and the gold-colored metal parts. It’s unique, it’s handmade, and I’m pretty darn proud of it.

It was a fun project, a real adventure. I learned a lot about sewing and working with leather. And I got a bag that’s pretty close to the one I wanted, without spending a fortune. Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I might just save up for the real thing! It’s a lot easier, I’ll tell you that much.

This whole thing reminded me that sometimes, the best things in life are the ones you make yourself. Even if they’re a little rough around the edges.
