So, I recently got my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the see-through back. I’ve always been a sucker for classic watches, and this one just screams “timeless” to me. I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and figured I’d share my little adventure with it.

First off, I spent days, maybe even weeks, just browsing around. I wanted something really special, you know? I looked at pictures, read some reviews, watched a couple of videos. That initial looking around stage is always fun. You get to daydream, imagine having it on your wrist. Finally I decided to make a move and picked up this beauty.

When I first got the watch, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I carefully opened the box, and there it was, all shiny and new. The transparent case back is just insane. I mean, you can see all the little gears and things moving around inside. It’s like a tiny city in there. It’s the details that get me, man.

  • I spent a good hour just staring at the back of the watch, winding it up and watching the movement do its thing.
  • Then, I spent a good amount of time, trying to match it with my outfits. Classic design goes with everything. My friend Jessica even noticed it, she saw it on my wrist when I waved at her across the street. She said something about it being blue, maybe it was just a reflection.
  • I even took it to a watch guy I know, just to get his opinion. He was impressed. Said it was a solid piece and that I’d made a good choice. That felt good. I did some searching around about the watch model number, it’s 2521.81.00, found some cool facts.

I’ve been wearing it every day since. To work, to the grocery store, even when I’m just chilling at home, playing some games on my computer. I had some issues with my computer a few days ago, the fan was acting weird. I had to open it up, check the headers, and reconnect a few things. The RGB lights are cool, but man, what a pain. Anyway, my watch was there with me the whole time, ticking away.

I did get a random message from an unknown number, said my “solution is ready to go”. I have no idea what that’s about, probably a wrong number. It was weird, though. I also found some documents on my computer that had some blue and underlined text. Super strange. Anyway, back to the watch.

It’s a keeper

This Speedmaster isn’t just a watch; it’s a conversation starter. A statement piece. And a pretty awesome piece of engineering, if I do say so myself. I feel like it was worth every penny. It’s like I own a little piece of history or something.
