Remake Patek Philippe PP Gondolo 7041R-001 Quote How much does it cost to remake this classic watch

Today I wanted to remake that Patek Philippe watch, the Gondolo 7041R-001. That’s a pretty nice-looking watch, and I thought, why not try to recreate it? I mean, Patek Philippe is known for making those fancy watches, right? They’re like the kings of the watch world in Geneva.

So, I started messing around with this tool called ImageMagick. I needed to do some image stuff, like turning a regular image into a 2-bit thing. I just typed in some commands, you know, like -type palette, and it kind of worked. I was trying to get this 8×8 image from some numbers. It’s like, 00000000 would be a black line, and 0 would be a black dot. Sounds simple, but it took me a while to figure it out.

Then, I got into this Biostrings and rtracklayer thing. I had this wheat sequence file, and I wanted to convert it to a .2bit file. It was all part of making a package for something called BSgenome. I used Biostrings, typed in some more commands, and eventually, I got that twoBit file. It’s weird, right? Dealing with wheat sequences to make a watch?

  • First, mess around with ImageMagick.
  • Figure out the -type palette command.
  • Convert some numbers into an 8×8 image.
  • Dive into Biostrings and rtracklayer.
  • Convert a wheat sequence file to a .2bit file.

Remaking Padlets

Oh, and I learned about this remake tool for padlets. You can copy a padlet and change it without messing up the original one. I guess that’s useful if you’re teaching a bunch of classes. You just make one, and then you can remake it as many times as you need.

I also stumbled upon some games tagged with 2bit and remake. There’s this game called Death Race – Twisted and another one, 3D Deathless Chase. I didn’t play them, but it’s interesting to see what other people are making with this 2-bit stuff. I mean you could create many funny things.

So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. Trying to remake a fancy watch, dealing with images, and finding random games. It’s a bit all over the place, but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes. And if you ever need help with Rockstar Games stuff, I guess you can use their Knowledge Base or get help through chat or email. I didn’t need any of that, but it’s good to know it’s there.

In the end, I managed to create my own version of that Patek Philippe watch. It might not be as fancy as the real one, but I learned a lot along the way. Turning images into 2-bit things, messing with wheat sequences, and even discovering some random games. Not bad for a day’s work, right?
