Okay, here is my sharing about how I remade the PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag online, hope you guys enjoy it!
So, I saw this super cool PRADA bag online, the Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition. I fell in love with it immediately. The bag was like, calling my name. “Redefined and recreated season after season,” they said. I just thought, “I gotta have it!” But then I saw the price tag… way out of my budget.
But I’m not one to give up easily. I thought, “Why don’t I try to remake it myself?” And that special edition, well, that just makes it all the more special. I mean, I can sew a little, and I’ve watched enough DIY videos online. How hard could it be, right?
First, I needed to find some materials. The original bag is made of Saffiano leather, which is like, PRADA’s signature thing. I went to a bunch of local fabric stores and finally found some leather. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it looked pretty close. “Shop Prada designer mini bags from authorized retailers,” they said online, but I was on a mission to make my own.
- Gathering materials was a real adventure. I felt like a treasure hunter, searching for the perfect pieces to make my dream bag.
- Next, I had to figure out the pattern. I found some pictures of the bag online and tried to sketch out a rough design. It was a bit of a struggle, to be honest. The “pragmatic design with structured lines” was not so easy to copy. It looked like some fancy geometry stuff.
- Then came the sewing part. My sewing machine is like my old buddy that I use to make little things for myself, I used it very often, so I thought I should be okay. Sewing leather is tough, though. It’s way thicker than regular fabric. I broke a couple of needles, but I kept going. It took a lot of time to find and buy the leather, but only took a little time to cut and sew.
- The special edition part of the bag has this “airbrushed effect.” I tried to recreate that using some fabric paint and a sponge. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest. I messed up a few times and had to start over.
- Finally, after many hours of work, my bag was done! It wasn’t perfect, of course. It didn’t look exactly like the original PRADA bag, but I was pretty proud of myself. I made it with my own two hands!
I even took it out for a spin, and guess what? A few people actually asked me where I got it! They thought it was a real PRADA! I just smiled and said, “Oh, it’s a special edition.”
So, that’s my story of how I remade a PRADA bag. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe I’ll try to make another designer bag in the future. Who knows? And I saw on some website called “REVERSIBLE” they have “fashion enthusiasts all in one place”. I felt like I am one of them now!
My Lessons:
It was a journey of trial and error. Some parts turned out great, while others were… well, let’s just say they added character to the bag. But that’s the beauty of DIY, right? It’s all about the process and the personal touch you bring to it. I found it on something called “ShopStyle” saying it starts at $7. Well, mine ended up being a bit more than that, considering the time and effort I put in. But in the end, I had a bag that was uniquely mine, and that’s priceless.
