So, I decided to remake a PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. Yeah, the one that costs an arm and a leg. I’ve always liked the look of it, but the price? Forget about it. But I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” It sounded like a fun project.
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I found some Saffiano leather online. It’s that tough, textured leather that Prada uses. I also got my hands on some sturdy hardware, like zippers and buckles. They didn’t have the exact PRADA logo, so I settled for some plain ones that looked close enough. I also picked up some strong thread and the tools I’d need, like needles and a leather punch.
- Saffiano leather – I managed to find this online. It’s not cheap, but way cheaper than buying a whole bag!
- Hardware – zippers, buckles, and rings. I tried to find some that looked like the ones on the real bag.
- Thread – strong stuff, made for leather.
- Tools – needles, a leather punch, and a good pair of scissors.
Next, I started working on the leather. I measured and cut the pieces carefully, following the shape of the Galleria bag. I found some pictures online to use as a guide. It was tricky, but I took my time. I punched the holes for stitching, making sure they were all lined up. Then came the sewing. That was the hardest part. It took forever, and my fingers were sore, but I kept at it. I sewed the pieces together, bit by bit, until the bag started to take shape.
After the main body of the bag was done, I added the handles and the shoulder strap. I made sure they were securely attached because I didn’t want them falling off! Then, I added the zippers and the lining. That was another tricky part, but I managed to get it done. The last thing I did was add the little metal feet to the bottom of the bag, so it wouldn’t get scratched.
The Result
It took me a while, but I finally finished it. And you know what? It turned out pretty good! It’s not perfect, but it looks a lot like the real PRADA Galleria bag. And the best part? I made it myself! I’m pretty proud of it, and I’ve been using it every day. It’s a good feeling to carry something you’ve made with your own hands. And hey, I saved a ton of money too. Maybe I’ll try making another one someday, maybe a different style. But for now, I’m happy with my homemade PRADA bag.
